Retford United face a tricky trip to North
West Counties Division One side Flixton in the Fourth Round of the F.A Vase.
Whilst Flixton are the second worst supported club in their league
(averaging 51 this season), they are current holders of the NWC Division Two
Trophy and have a good pedigree in the Vase, reaching the semi-final in
1997. The tie will be played at Valley Road on Saturday 20 January 2020.
Both teams will fancy their chances in a tournament that is now wide open
following FC United of Manchester's shock exit at home to Leicestershire
side, Quorn.

EAGLES SET TO FLY? |

Arnold Town Football Club has assured its
frustrated supporters that the proposed move to a new stadium is still on
schedule. Little action has been evident at the new location, christened
Eagle Valley, since a sign went up at the site in June this year. However,
whilst Eagle's Chairman, Roy Francis, acknowledges delays stating:
"W e are again on target and the first game will be played in August. The Club has applied for promotion and if we achieve the results between now and next April we have the opportunity to be playing at a higher level".

Nottinghamshire has one sole survivor in the
F.A Vase this season, following Retford United's thrilling 4-3 victory over
AFC Shildon. A brace from Mark Godber ensured the Badgers their place
in the fourth round draw in a game that could have gone either way at Cannon

The draw for the Quarter Final of the Notts
F.A. Intermediate Cup has thrown up a mouthwatering clash between the
holders and the favourites. Basford United's will face Blidworth Welfare at
Greenwich Avenue in the tie of the round. South Yorkshire's Bawtry Town are
the only side remaining from outside of the county, whilst Basford are the
only side in the Quarter Finals to have won the trophy in its 97-year
history.

A special fund-raising night is being held to
raise money for a Brian Clough Statue in Nottingham. Musical talent,
including local talent Mint Ive, will be performing at the Rescue Rooms at a
night entitled 'Clough Aid'. The event will be compared by Cloughie's
European Cup winning captain John McGovern. He said: �Brian Clough was the
single biggest inspiration I ever had in my footballing career � so I�m
pleased to be able to lend my support to Clough Aid". It all takes place on
Friday 15th December. Admission is �5.00, with all proceeds going to the

Nottingham Forest & Mansfield Town both
surrendered leads in the F.A. Cup this weekend, and must now win replays if
they are to progress to the 3rd Round. Despite dominating for long periods,
Forest could not finish off plucky Conference South outfit, Salisbury Town,
and were fortunate to hold on to a 1-1 draw in the end. Stags conceded a

It was a case of goals galore in this weekends
Notts Intermediate Cup ties, with an astonishing 52 goals in just 8
games. Blidworth Welfare had a scare when plucky NSL
side, Caribbean Cavaliers, held them to a 4-4 draw at the Welfare Stadium.
However, Welfare recovered sufficiently to record a 6-5 win on penalties .
Honours for tie-of-the-day go to Bilborough Pelican Reserves against Bulwell,
who were involved in a remarkable thirteen goal thriller. Bulwell deservedly
took the honours, running out 8-5 winners at

Annesley-based Matrixgrade have announced a
four-figure sponsorship deal with ice hockey giants, the Nottingham
Panthers. The NAA outfit hope that the deal will raise the club's profile
with over fifty thousand people being made aware of Matrixgrade through such
initiatives as a tannoy announcement at every Panthers match at the National

Nottinghamshire football's participation in
the F.A.Trophy sadly ended last night with both Worksop Town and Hucknall
Town crashing out of the competition. The Tigers dominated preceedings at
Sandy Lane, yet went down 1-0 to Vauxhall Motors. Meanwhile, Hucknall threw
away a 1-0 lead at Barrow, going down 2-1. 29 November 2020 |

Rumour has it that Worksop
Town have been offered a fixture against leading Chinese side, Chengdu
Blades. The Blades, as the name suggests, are owned by English Premiership
club Sheffield United. Chengdu Blades will be sending over a side in the New
Year, and the Tigers have apparently been offered to play in an exhibition
match. The proposed date for the fixture is Thursday 4 January 2020 - kick
off 7pm.

Stalemates and bad weather dominated the
Nottinghamshire football scene this weekend. Hucknall Town and Worksop Town
will have to dispose of Barrow and Vauxhall Motors respectively in replays
if they are to progress to the 2nd Round of the F.A.Trophy. Meanwhile, many
of the fixtures in the south of the county were postponed due to heavy rain
on Friday evening. Half of the Notts Senior Cup ties were cancelled, but the
NSL has guaranteed itself one representative in the 3rd Round, with Wollaton
beating Linby Colliery Welfare 1-0 at the WSA . 26 November 2020 |

Following Carlton Town's move a few yards
north of their previous home, The Lions have announced an official reopening
date for their clubhouse & bar. Special guests of honour at the event will
be Notts County & Forest legends Colin Barrett & Les Bradd respectively.
Both will take part in a question & answer session in an invitation only, as
The Lions try to claw back some of the money they lost over the summer due
to the postponement of hospitality during the move. The event will take

Both Gedling Town & Retford United have been
rewarded with home ties in the 3rd Round of the F.A.Vase. Gedling will
entertain West Auckland Town of the Northern League, famous for winning the
world's first ever international competition, The Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy,
in 1909. They were to follow up this success two years later with a 6-1
victory over the mighty Juventus. Meanwhile, Shildon, also of the Northern
League, will visit Cannon Park. The Shells reached the First Round of the
F.A.Cup in 2003, going down 7-2 to Notts County. The ties are due to be

Radlciffe Olympic's
new floodlights at Wharf Lane will be officially switched on tomorrow night
during an evening of ladies football. F.A.Cup finalists Leeds United will
face Radcliffe Olympic ladies, with former European Cup winner, Gary Mills,
in attendance as Guests of Honour.
Olympic chairman John Bower said: "Our plans are to build a new clubhouse,
changing rooms and pitches so that we have enough pitches to allow our 28
men's, women's, boys' and girls' teams to train and play on one site."
Kick off is at 7.45pm and entry is �3 for

Retford United were relieved to edge past
plucky Rainworth Miners Welfare 2-1 in the 2nd Round of the F.A.Vase.
The Badgers had to come from behind in the derby clash with goals from
Chambers & Godbar seeing them through. They join the only other surviving
Notts side, Gedling Town, in the 3rd Round draw. The Yellow & Blues added
Newcastle Town to their growing list of cup upsets this season with a 2-0
